Susan at Weddings in Sedona provided the officiating for this Merry Go Round Rock elopement. The sun setting in the Western Arizona sky provided a spectacular backdrop. Merry Go Round Rock is out of way as compared to other ceremony locations, but is well worth the effort. No where else can you get that amazing sweeping Sedona background.

Irinia + Andy

I + A are a local Sedona couple that made the trek with their 40+ guests up Schnebly Hill Road to a great overlook called Merry-go-Round Rock. Jesse Kalu provided the Native American flute music. Since it was a high Noon ceremony, the sun was directly overhead.  Normally this can cause problems with shadows but I was prepared! The lighting techniques I experimented with made all the difference that you can see in the end results.

UPDATE: I just received a nice reply from Irina & Andy:

“Photos are so great and amazing! Such sweet and emotional moments are captured. Landscape photos are unbelivable – piece of art!
It was a pleasure and big luck for us to have you taking photos of our wedding day. Thank you very much for your work.
Now we have a wonderful visual evidences of our wedding besides our memories.”

Thank you.

L’auberge is always a special place to have a wedding. My wife an I almost had ours there, but decided to run to Vegas instead! (We did invite our parents – so not officially an elopement)  E + S had a great low key vibe and really enjoyed the moment. They offered some great ideas and added their own flavor & personality during the whole shoot. The reception was held creekside and the perfect Sedona weather made it even better!

Marie + Matt

Marie & Matt had a wonderful wedding and reception at Creekside Inn. Catering was provided by Rosalies of Sedona. The light was amazing and they were a great couple to photograph! After the ceremony we ran out to take some photos at the base of Schnebly Hill Road and returned in time for the grand entrance.

The wedding party all arrived on a Sedona Trolley at a place we call “The Knoll” – an overlook on the way to Red Rock Crossing. Once the sun drops just below the hill to the West – the light gets quite dramatic and can be a relief from the hot Arizona rays.
